(Springfield, IL) -- Some drivers have to turn their license over to the cop when they get a speeding ticket, but Representative John D'Amico says that's too much of a hassle. He's backing a bill that would allow drivers to keep their ID. Lawmakers say people need their license for the simple things in life, like buying medications and boarding an airplane. They're moving a bill that will change the process and let people hold onto their license. The bill has already cleared the Senate and a House committee and is headed to the House floor for a vote.
