Bill Would Allow Civil Rights For Pregnant Workers

(Springfield, IL) -- More women are having to head up their households these days and lawmakers say their bosses should give them reasonable accommodations when they're pregnant. That's Senator Toi Hutchinson of Illinois. If lawmakers have their way, employers would have to make sure pregnant workers stand less, get more bathroom and water breaks if they need them, and get help with hard manual labor. A bill that would make it happen has already cleared several hurdles in the process of becoming law and is now headed for a vote in the Senate.
