House Committee Ok's Marijuana For Epileptic Children
(Springfield, IL) -- Legislation designed to allow children with epilepsy to use medical marijuana advances. The bill sponsored by State Representative Lou Lang was approved Wednesday by a 15 to zero vote in a House committee session. The lawmaker says he will adjust the measure so that it bans children from smoking the medical cannabis. Supporters of the bill believe oil from the cannabis plants lowers the frequency of seizures and doesn't get users high. Opponents are against any effort to legalize marijuana. The measure passed the Senate last month and now moves to the full House for a vote.
