Bill Would Require High Schools To Teach CPR

(Undated) -- High school kids across the state could soon be required to learn a few lifesaving techniques before they walk across the stage to graduate. A bill moving through the legislature would require the kids learn CPR and how to use an automatic external defibrillator in their health education courses. But Senator Kimberly Lightford says that could be a burden. Parents would have the right to opt their children out of the training if they're against it. The bill has already cleared the House and is headed for a vote in the Senate.
