Pekin Fire Causes Considerable Damage To Home On Wednesday

(Pekin, IL) -- A fire Wednesday afternoon in Pekin caused a considerable amount of damage to the house. Firefighters were dispatched to the home located in the 200 block of Cooper Street yesterday afternoon at about 2. Authorities say that neighbors spotted the fire at the home. Investigators say the fire may have started around the dryer area but aren't sure. Just what caused the fire is unclear. The residents of the house were not at home at the time of the fire, but an adult dog and two puppies were found dead inside the house. The fire caused an estimated $50,000 in damage.
