ATV Law To Fix Flawed 2012 Law Passes Out of Illinois House Committee

(Undated) -- A law that supports ATV owners has passed out of an Illinois House Committee. The Illinois House Transportation Committee passed the bill that is sponsored by Peoria area State Senator Dave Koehler. Koehler says the Bill is an effort to fix a flawed 2012 law that he says failed to differentiate between golf carts that are used by people with disabilities and ATVs that are used in state and local parks and preserves. Koehler's plan will cut the current $15 registration fee down to $10 for vehicles that are smaller than 75cc engines. He says it also provides clear exemptions for golf carts that are used by people with disabilities and ATVs used by governments and ATVs used by farmers.
