School Board Member Under Fire After Offensive Remarks
(Gurnee, IL) -- A Warren Township school board member is under fire after making what some are calling an "inappropriate" comment about gay people. During a public meeting last week, Liz Biondi said the district should be careful about hiring a gay superintendent because he or she may be "fighting more personal fires than superintendent fires." Other school board members and the mayor of Gurnee are outraged by the comment and they want Biondi gone. They say her comments do not represent the community and they're asking her to resign her position.
