SIU Interim Chancellor Dies

(Carbondale, IL) -- There’s sad new to report out of SIU Carbondale. The university's interim Chancellor, Paul Sarvela, lost the fight to cancer yesterday. He'd served in various positions at SIU for nearly three-decades but filled the role as interim chancellor since July. He leaves behind a wife and two kids. Funeral arrangements are pending.
