Proposed Hannibal Ordinance Would Clean Up Meth Houses
(Quincy, IL) -- Hannibal Police are proposing a law that they hope will help do away with dangerous meth houses in the city. The planned ordinance was introduced at Tuesday's City Council meeting. If it's approved, it would hold landlords responsible for the cleanup of meth labs set up in rental homes. Hannibal Assistant Police Chief John Zerbonia told "WGEM-TV" that he would like for landlords to remove any toxic chemicals connected to meth production from houses. He added that anywhere someone has made, stored or used meth can be required to face cleanup before new tenants can move in.
