(Chicago, IL) -- The treasurer's race is still too close too call. Only about one-percentage point separates Republican Tom Cross and Democrat Mike Frerichs. A preliminary count puts Cross ahead but Frerichs isn't backing down. His campaign spokesman says they think there's a healthy chunk of uncounted votes that will fall in their favor, especially in Cook County. He says Frerichs won't be calling it quits until all the votes are counted and prove Cross is indeed the victor.
