Washington Fire Chief Resigning

(Washington, IL) -- Washington Fire Chief Mike Vaughn is stepping down. Board members voted not to renew his contract in June. But after several panelists resigned, a final vote wasn't taken, and Vaughn's contract automatically renewed. He'll leave the fire department effective November 1st.
