Single Vehicle Rollover Accident Sends Canton Man To Hospital
(Canton, IL) -- A Canton man was treated at an area hospital following a one vehicle accident that occurred over the weekend in Fulton County. The single vehicle rollover accident left William Juraco injured. He told authorities that he was watching farm machinery when he lost control of his car and then struck a utility pole, flipping his vehicle. He was treated at the scene by Fulton County EMA personnel and then taken to Graham Hospital in Canton for further treatment.
Peoria County Inmate Found Hanged In Cell
(Peoria, IL) -- A 22-year old inmate in the Peoria County Jail was found dead in his cell over the weekend. Tylor D. Young was found Sunday morning at just after 11. The Peoria County Coroner's office says that Young apparently tied a bed sheet to a metal light cover and then hanged himself. He was alone in his cell. He was last seen by a correction officer with the Peoria County Jail at about 10:15 Sunday morning. Young was jailed on October 6th after being arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in Court. The investigation is continuing. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed today.
Accident Victim’s Identity Released
(Washington, IL) -- The identity of a man who was killed in an accident in Washington over the weekend has been released. Authorities say that 55-year old Brian J. Epping died as a result of the accident that occurred at the intersection of U.S. Route 24 and Nofsinger Road Saturday night at about 8:20. The accident is continuing to be investigated.
Police Investigating Hate Crime
(Homewood, IL) -- Police are investigating a hate crime in Homewood. They say 26-year-old Pol Danilov stabbed a 79-year-old black woman four-times with a steak knife inside a grocery store last Friday. He reportedly told cops he stabbed her because she was black and because she was an easy target. He's locked up on half-a-million-dollars bond. The woman is expected to make a full recovery.
Grenade Found In Joliet Park
(Joliet, IL) -- Police are trying to figure out how a grenade ended up in a creek in Joliet. A man reportedly discovered the bomb while he was looking for arrowheads at Pilcher Park Saturday afternoon. A bomb squad recovered the device. They said it was inactive but they planned on destroying it, just in case.
