Illinois Farm Deaths Show Dramatic Increase
(Peoria, IL) -- Fatal farming accidents have nearly doubled in the last year as 21-people died between July 2013 and July of this year. The prior year saw 12-people lose their lives in farming-related accidents. Twelve of this year's farm death victims were 65 or older and nine of the 21 fatal accidents involved tractors. National statistics continue to show agriculture to be the most dangerous industry, with a higher percentage of deaths than mining or construction.
