(Springfield, IL) -- Illinois crops continue to do well. The latest crop report from the USDA shows the state had cool weather last week and some places got some showers. Rainfall averaged just over an inch last week, which is slightly above normal. Crop statistician Mark Schleusener says the corn crop is progressing nicely with 86 percent in the dough stage and 34 percent in the dent stage. Eighty percent of the crop is rated as good to excellent.
