Backpack Safety Tips For Parents

(Undated)  --  With school starting up for kids all across the country, there are some things parents need to think about when buying their children backpacks.  Pediatrician Doctor Sara Lappe [[ luh-PAY ]] at Cleveland Clinic Children's says to be careful about putting your child's name on their backpack.  Parents should also make sure the backpack has two wide straps that will help distribute the weight evenly.  If you're worried it being too heavy, the basic rule of thumb is the backpack shouldn't weigh any more than ten-to-20-percent of your child's weight.
