Crops Looking Good According To Illinois Crop Report

(Undated) -- Many areas of the state, including Fulton County, enjoyed some needed rain last week, according to the weekly crop report. AVerage statewide precipitation was nearly 1.5-inches this past week, which is more than a 1/2 inch above normal. That put's topsoil moisture at two-percent very Short, 17-percent short, 76-percent adequate and five-percent surplus. State Crop Statistician Todd Ballard says corn is doing well. 94-percent of soybeans are blooming and 79-percent are setting pods. 78-percent of the crop is in good to excellent condition.
