(Washington, IL) -- Teachers in the Washington High School District 308 have a new contract. The districts Board of Education approved the new deaql this week. The contract is for just one year though, traditionally contracts for teachers in the district have been for three years. School officials say with the tornado in November of last year, the district wants to see where they are financially for the 2015-16 school year before committing to a longer contract. District officials say they rely heavily on property taxes for revenue. About 120 teachers as well as certified staff employees are covered by the contract.
