(Champaign, IL) -- State Senator Michael Frerichs is catching a bit of heat over an outstanding property tax bill. He'd let the taxes pile up for years on his legislative office in Champaign. The final tab was about 18-hundred-bucks before he recently paid it off. But the delinquency has become a point of contention in the race for state treasurer. His opponent, Tom Cross, asks how Frerichs can be trusted to manage taxpayers' money when he can't even pay his own bills.
