Cataracts Common Among People Over 40
(Undated) -- Cataracts are common among people over 40, and are the leading cause of vision loss as people get older. Doctor Richard Gans with Cleveland Clinic's Cole Eye Institute says cataracts are cloudy areas that develop in our eyes, and the signs are subtle. Doctor Gans says some medical conditions, including being diabetic, increase your chances of developing cataracts. He says a quick ten-minute surgery can remove cataracts, and you could be fully recovered within a few days after the surgery.
