Sarvela Named Chancellor At SIU

(Carbondale, IL) -- Southern Illinois University officials named a new acting chancellor Tuesday. Paul Sarvela was named to the post. He had been serving as the vice president for academic affairs at SIU. Sarvela takes over for Rita Cheng. She's leaving Carbondale to become the president at Northern Arizona University. She had been SIU's chancellor since 2010.
