Canton Traffic Survey Conducted Recently on East Myrtle Street

(Canton, IL) -- The Canton Police Department recently conducted a Traffic Speed Survey on East Myrtle Street. The survey was on East Myrtle at the railroad tracks. A total number of vehicles that passed through the area during the survey was 8,610. The survey found that there were 8,160 vehicles traveling between 0 and 30 mph, 360 vehicles were traveling between 31 and 35 mph, 33 were traveling between 36 and 40 mph and those vehicles traveling over 41 mph were 57. The average speed during the survey was 27 mph. The highest volume of traffic was found to be at approximately 9 in the morning and again at 5 p.m. The Traffic Speed Survey took place between June 20th and June 26th.
