(Canton, IL) -- The city of Canton will be holding their first residential Clean-Up Week coming up next month. It will be held from July 14th through the 19th. This will replace the GABBY Day weekend that the city has had for the last several years. Two dumpsters will be placed at the street department located at 520 West Locust Street for residents to dump their unwanted items in. Persons dumping items will need a photo ID that verifies a Canton address. Times for dumping will be Monday through Thursday from 7:30 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon and then on Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Items that will not be accepted will be appliances, electronics, televisions, computers, monitors, tires, batteries, yard waste, paint and excessive construction materials. Staff will be on-site to monitor what goes in the dumpsters and a limit of one visit per household.
