Police say they were dispatched to the 400 block of West Locust Street Monday night at about 8:45 on a domestic battery that was in progress. Upon arrival, officers met with 49-year old Denene M. Hunt. Hunt told authorities that she had been arguing with 46-year old Shanta E. Howse about money that Hunt owed Howse for clothing. Hunt said that Howse then slapped her in the face. She then retaliated by grabbing her and knocking her glasses off, breaking them. The two then starting hitting each other and fighting. Howse allegedly bit Hunt on the right index finger and the left ring finger. Fulton County EMA was then called to the scene but Hunt refused to be treated. Both women were arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where they were processed on domestic battery charges. Hunt and Howse were later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.
