Yates City Man Pleads Guilty To Burglaries At Giant Goose Ranch (Lewistown, IL) -- A Yates City man was in Fulton County Circuit Court on Monday where he entered a guilty plea to several charges. 22-year old Donald Allen entered guilty pleas to 48 counts that included residential burglary, theft as well as criminal damage to property. Charges against Allen stem from an investigation into several burglaries that took place at the Giant Goose Ranch, west of Canton earlier this year by deputies from the Fulton County Sheriff's Office. Canton Man Arrested On Battery Charges (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man is facing charges after police in Canton were dispatched to an address on West Old Locust Street for a fight in progress. Police say they observed that the victim a 32-year old homeless man, had blood on his lips, a bleeding nose, small laceration on the left side of his nose and also had swelling below his left eye. An investigation resulted in the arrest of 33-year Cyrus K. Henderson in the 800 block of West Old Locust Friday night at just after 11:30. Henderson was taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed on a battery charge. The victim was taken to the Graham Hospital Emergency Room to be treated for injuries. Henderson was unable to post bond and was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown. Traffic Stop Leads To Charges (Canton, IL) -- A Canton woman is facing charges after police conducted a traffic stop over the weekend in the area of Maple and Main Streets. Police say after the officer made the stop for not having a front registration plate, an odor of alcohol was detected coming from the vehicle. The driver was then identified as 18-year old Lindzey N. Plecki. After a brief investigation, Plecki was charged with possession/consumption of alcohol by a minor. She was given a city ordinance citation. Plecki will have 14-days to pay a fine. If she does not pay the fine she will have a September Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Police Charge Canton Man For Using Fireworks (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man is facing charges after police had to go to his residence twice in regard to a complaint about fireworks over the weekend. Police say they first went to the area of 2nd Avenue and Linn Street at just before 4 Saturday afternoon where they gave 39-year old Casey M. Service a verbal warning about using fireworks. Police were later dispatched to an address in the 800 block of South 3rd Avenue on another complaint about fireworks. Officers observed fireworks still smoking in the backyard of the residence and observed Service in that area. He was then charged and given a non traffic complaint and a notice to appear for use of fireworks and released. Service has a July Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Pekin Man Sentenced For Peoria & Tazewell County Burglaries (Pekin, IL) -- One of four individuals who were taken into custody in an alleged burglary ring in Pekin was in Tazewell County Circuit Court on Monday. 25-year old Justin Petty of Pekin entered a guilty plea to burglary charges. As part of a plea bargain, another charge was dismissed. Petty was then sentenced to three years in prison. He was given credit for 61 days that he has already served. Authorities say that Petty along with 23-year old Casey Landrith were each charged with burglary and theft. Landrith was also part of a separate burglary case. Authorities made the arrest after nearly 309 businesses in Pekin, East Peoria and Peoria were all burglarized earlier this year. Girl Scout Leader From Morton Sentenced On Theft Charges (Peoria, IL) -- A Morton woman was in Peoria County Circuit Court on Monday, entering a guilty plea to charges of misdemeanor theft. 36-year old Suzanne Ostrom was then sentenced to ten days of jail time and was also placed on a year of probation. She was charged earlier this year in February after it was determined as the result of an audit by the office of the Girl Scouts of Central Illinois that about $7,500 had disappeared with any reason from the savings count of a Girl Scout Troop. She was given credit for having already served five days. Ostroom must make full restitution as part of her sentencing.
