Peoria County Coroner's Jury Rules Robbery Suspect's Death A Suicide
(Peoria, IL)  --  A Peoria County Coroner's Jury has ruled that the death of a bank robbery suspect in the Peoria County Jail was a suicide.  The ruling was reached on Tuesday.  26-year old Kevin Angus of Canton was arrested following the robbery of the Glasford State Bank in Glasford in April.  Angus, along with Josh Wernsman, also of Canton, was arrested.  Angus was later found dead in his cell.  The Peoria County Coroner said that he had hanged himself.  Wernsman remains in the Peoria County Jail and is due back in Peoria County Circuit Court on Friday.

Warrant Leads To Canton Mans Arrest
(Canton, IL)  --  A Canton man wanted on a valid warrant, turned himself into Canton police earlier this week.  On Monday night, 24-year old Christopher J. Dillon turned himself in to authorities at the Canton Police Department at just before 6:30.  Police say that Dillon was wanted for two warrants.  A 2014 Fulton County Misdemeanor Warrant, failure to appear pay order disorderly conduct and a 2013 Fulton County Traffic Warrant, driving with a suspended driver's license.  Dillon was then arrested.  He posted bond totalling $550 and a $20 processing fee before being released. Dillon was then given a July Fulton County Court date in Lewistown.

Canton Man Arrested For Two Warrants
(Canton, IL)  --  A Canton man wanted for two valid warrants was arrested earlier this week in Canton.  Police say they located 20-year old Jesse R. Peak at 1325 East Ash Street Monday afternoon at just before 4.  Peak was wanted for a 2014 Fulton County Misdemeanor Warrant for unlawful possession of cannabis and a 2012 Peoria County Warrant for delivery of heroin.  He was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed for the two warrants.  Peak posted a total of $1,550 in bond money as well as a $20 processing fee.  He then was released and Peak was given July court dates in both Peoria County and Fulton County.

Warrant Results In Canton Woman’s Arrest
(Canton, IL)  --  A Canton woman was arrested over the weekend in Canton on a warrant.  48-year old Patricia L. King was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for failing to use a turn signal.  King was found to be wanted on a 2003 Fulton County Traffic Warrant, failure to appear, pay order driving while having a revoked driver's license.  She was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where she was processed.  After posting a $500 cash bond and a $20 processing fee, King was released and given a July Fulton County Court date in Lewistown.  The driver of the vehicle was given a verbal warning for the turn signal violation.

Peoria County Grand Jury Indicts Peoria Man For Attempting To Rob Store
(Peoria, IL)  --  A Peorian is facing charges after police in Peoria say he attempted to rob the Family Dollar Store.  A Peoria County Grand Jury indicted 39-year old Bobby Burns on those charges.  Burns has been charged with attempted aggravated robbery, burglary as well as battery.  Authorities say that Burns entered the store that is located on North Western Avenue in May.  He then assaulted a female employee who was at the register.  The suspect also told the employee that he had a gun.  The register wouldn't open and that’s when police say he left in a car.  Witnesses were able to get the license plate number of the vehicle and officers then spotted the car a few blocks away and arrested Burns.  He is due back in Peoria County Circuit Court on Thursday to answer the indictment.

Peorian Enters Plea In Woodford County Home Invasion
(Peoria, IL)  --  A Peoria man was in Woodford County Circuit Court On Tuesday to enter a not guilty plea to charges following a home invasion in Roanoke last month.  32-year old Mitchell Simmons has been charged in Woodford County with home invasion and aggravated discharge of a firearm.  Authorities say that Simmons entered the home located in 800 block of Front Street in Roanoke last month.  No injuries were reported as a result of the break in.  Simmons remains in the Woodford County Jail in Eureka on a $500,000 bond.  He is due back in Woodford County Circuit Court next month.

Mother And Son Charged In Beating Of Pekin Woman
(Pekin, IL)  --  A mother and son are facing charges in Pekin after they allegedly entered a house where a woman had fled for protection, dragging her out and then beating her last week.  Pekin police say they arrested 27-year old Billy Beever of Pekin and his mother, 49-year old Diana Sisk.  Beever has been charged with home invasion and felony domestic battery.  He is currently being held in Tazewell County on a $50,000 bond.  Sisk has been charged with misdemeanor battery.  She posted a $150 cash bond and has been released.  The victim told authorities that she had to be treated for injuries suffered in the beating.  Beever is due back in Tazewell County Circuit Court next month.  Sisk is due back in Tazewell County Court on Monday.
