Election Changes Could Help Democrat Turnout
(Springfield, IL) -- New election laws will be on the books by the time the November election rolls around. Lawmakers approved a bill that will allow people to register the same day they vote. And, polling places are going up at universities across the state. The idea there is to make sure young voters make it to the booth. Experts say voter turnout is usually low among young people in non-presidential years. They say the simple fact that Democrats want so many referenda on the ballot is a clear indication that they may actually be worried about losing some of their seats this fall.
