Doomsday Budget Could Get Vote Today

(Springfield, IL) -- The House is expected to vote on a doomsday budget today, which will make drastic cuts to education and other social services. The bare bones plan will be worth just under 35-billion dollars. Democrats tried to push a 38-billion-dollar plan through last week but that's essentially void since there isn't enough support to keep the income tax rate in place. Critics say Democrats are playing games with the budgeting process and are hoping their doomsday plan will make lawmakers rethink their position on extending the tax.
