Crews Finally Get Grain Bin Fire Under Control
(Adair, IL) -- Fire crews have been able to get a massive grain bin fire under control in Adair. It's taken nearly 24-hours but Macomb Fire Chief Andy Taylor says they equalized the pressure and drained the grain. Taylor says there were about one-million-bushels of grain inside the bin, which is owned by Western Grain Management. Authorities believe that some of it can be salvaged. There's no official word on what caused the fire but Taylor says it may have been a spontaneous combustion.
