State Troopers To Conduct Special Patrols

(McLean County, IL) -- Illinois State Police will conduct Special Traffic Enforcement Patrols between May 9th and May 26th in McLean County. Troopers will focus on speeding, failure to use seatbelts and other driving offenses. The STEP program consists of a combination of increased enforcement and public information designed to raise public awareness and compliance to all traffic laws. In Illinois, speed-related crashes are connected to more than 40 percent of all traffic deaths.
