Murder Suspect Sentenced For His Part In 2012 Murder
(Decatur, IL) -- A Decatur man convicted of stabbing a Maroa man to death will spend more than four decades behind bars. Douglas Taylor was sentenced to 50 years in prison on Tuesday. He pleaded guilty several weeks ago to the 2012 death of 23-year-old Justin Mentzer. Prosecutors say Taylor and his accomplice Terris Warnsley plotted to kill Mentzer and stealing several of his electronic devices. Co-defendant Warnsley will be sentenced on July 3rd.
