Illinois Community Colleges Achieve Completion Goals

(Undated) --  A degree from a community college may carry as much weight as a degree from a four-year university.  Presidents of community colleges around the state believe that to be true.  She says their students are meeting employer demands and are just as competitive in the workforce.  Sixty-nine-thousand people are set to get a degree or certificate from a community college in Illinois this year.  But that's not quite enough for state leaders.  The lieutenant governor has been pushing for at least 60-percent of the adults in Illinois to have a degree within the next ten years.
