(Undated) -- This has been the 11th wettest winter on record in Illinois, thanks largely to late February snowfall. Although last month was pretty cold, the average temperature for December through February in Illinois came in at 31.8 degrees, which is almost three degrees above normal. Average precipitation during those three months was 9.1 inches. That's about two inches more than usual, and helps ease drought conditions says state climatologist Jim Angel. The spring forecast is calling for an increased chance of both warmer and wetter weather than normal.
